2020 Annual Seminar

Jeff BockmanThe 2020 Annual Seminar will feature Jeff Bockman on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church at 601 N. Cliff in Sioux Falls, SD. 
 
Jeffrey Bockman is an experienced genealogy lecturer and writer. He is the author of Give Your Family a Gift Thaty Money Can't Buy / Record and Preserve Your Family’s History, a book that encourages people to record basic information and their interesting family stories, preserve documents and identify photographs to pass along their family history for future generations.He was a former contributing editor for the former Everton’s Genealogical Helper and a former writer for the former Heritage Question magazine. His articles have also appeared in other publications.

8:30 am – 9 AM

Session One: Real Research on the Web - major sites & research strategies plus major record types. 
10 am – 10:30 am
Break – refreshments and visit vendors
10:30 am – 11:30 am
Session Two: Genealogy Vacations or Trips - planning, types of trips, international, etc. 
11:30 am – 12:00 noon
Question & Answer Time
12 noon – 1 pm
Lunch break and South Dakota Genealogical Society meeting – all are welcome at this meeting
1 pm – 2 pm
Session Three: Living with Brick Walls - problem solving intro and tools
2 pm – 2:30 pm
Break - refreshments
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Session Four: DNA & Research - types of tests plus a review of verifying the research
